Ranveer Shorey, who had a strained relationship with actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt, has earlier alleged that the actress has planted “lies” in the media. Pooja Bhatt’s younger brother Rahul Bhatt recently opened up about an incident involving Ranveer Shorey two decades ago, claiming that he had attacked his sister to protect her. Rahul Bhatt also said that he regretted taking the matter into his own hands.

Rahul Bhatt also praised Ranveer Shorey for how he handled the situation.

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his podcast, Rahul Bhatt said, “Ranveer Shorey and Pooja Bhatt had a fight. They had an argument, after which Ranveer killed him or something. I had to step in and, when I did, my response was a bit exaggerated. I broke his car window. I did wrong in his hands. I broke one of my laws. After that, I paid the price.” done

He added, “I regret it. I shouldn’t have overreacted. In those days, I said I would do it again. But in Ranveer Shorey’s case, I shouldn’t have. He was very decent. During the complexity of the crime, he came forward and said, ‘Let bygones be bygones.’

Rahul Bhatt concluded, “No one does anything like that. People usually use such situations to extract money, but he didn’t. He came and compounded the case, and the FIR was quashed. Till then, I had a criminal case pending. He was very good at it. I respect him for that. No one does that without holding a grudge,” concluded Rahul Bhatt.

What did Ranveer Shorey say about the controversy?

Ranveer Shorey was the second runner-up Bigg Boss OTT 3. At the time, he addressed the allegations of being “profane”, saying they were “false” and “planted” by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.

Ranveer Shorey in the Bigg Boss house had said, “During that time, I also had the biggest scandal of my life with another actress. As I was unable to bear it, my brother asked me to come to America with him for some time. I did a six-month acting course in America and borrowed money from my brother. After I started shooting for Mahan shows in the US, I returned to Indian shows. 2005. At that time, my two Feature films were green-lit for release and hit the theaters within a week, and my work was loved by the audience, I finally felt that my life as an actor was stable and I had arrived.”

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ranveer Shorey discussed his fallout with the Bhatt family. Ranveer and Pooja, who were close friends before becoming romantically involved, went through a dramatic and public breakup. Pooja had accused Ranveer of physical and verbal abuse, allegations which he has vehemently denied.

Ranveer said, “At the time we had a fight, I felt that the respect I had for him was manipulated by him. When there was a fight, he said to my father, ‘Okay, we will settle this matter here, whatever the fight was between the kids.’ The next day, he proceeded to print outright lies about me and planted false stories against me in the media, painting me as a drunken, abusive person. It’s all a lie.”

Asked if the fight was only between him and Pooja, Ranveer said, “It was her brother who attacked me. He (Mahesh Bhatt) could have told these people not to talk like that. In that sense, I felt he was manipulating me. These are all 25-year-old stories. I don’t want to get into them now.”

Pooja Bhatt had earlier claimed that Ranveer becomes “violent” when he gets drunk and physically abusive. On Bigg Boss, Ranveer described his relationship with Pooja Bhatt as one of the “biggest scandals” of his life.
