Mumbai: Upasana Kamineni Konidela, wife of South superstar Ram Charan and entrepreneur by profession, has sparked an important debate on women ‘freezing eggs’ to focus on their career.
The entrepreneur, who received backlash for this on his social media, took to his X (formerly Twitter) account and once again expressed his views: “I am happy to spark a healthy debate and thank you for your respectful responses.

In another post, Upasana said, “Fact check: I married for love and companionship at the age of 27 – a choice I made on my own terms. At the age of 29, I decided to freeze my eggs for personal and health reasons, which I have always talked about openly, to encourage other women to explore their options. (For the record it was not at Apollo.)
I welcomed my first child at the age of 36 and am now expecting twins at the age of 39.” She continued, ‘Throughout my journey, I have given equal importance to building my career and growing my marriage, because a happy, stable environment matters deeply when raising a family.’ The entrepreneur further wrote, “For me, marriage and career are not competing priorities – they are equally meaningful parts of a fulfilling life. But I set the deadlines!” That is not a privilege; This is my right!!!”
Upasana was recently seen at an event in Hyderabad talking about the idea of ”freezing eggs” to have children later and focus primarily on her career.

Talking about Upasana and Ram, the couple tied the knot in 2012. They welcomed their daughter in 2023, when Upasana was 34 years old. The couple are now reportedly expecting twins.
This year, during Diwali, Upasana had announced her pregnancy through a post on social media.
