Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, popularly known as Raj and DK, have teamed up with Yukti Threja for Season 2.

In a special with Variety IndiaYukti Threja has confirmed that she will play the lead role opposite Shahid in the much-awaited season. Describing her character, the actor said she is a “fearless Gen-Z woman who speaks out against the system”.

“I am playing the main female lead Fake Season 2 I am the only central female character this season. All my scenes are with Shahid Kapoor. My character is a fearless Gen-Z woman who speaks out against the system,” she said.

Yukti added, “It’s a strong, layered role with real substance. I’ve shot most of it already, about 20% is left to complete, and the season is expected to release in mid-2027.”

The crime thriller follows Sunny, an artist played by Shahid, who enters the dangerous world of counterfeit currency.

In the first season, Rashi Khanna played the role of Megha, who becomes romantically involved with Sunny while trying to bust a counterfeit currency racket.

Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi will return Counterfeit 2

The first season ended with Sunny and his best friend Feroze, played by Bhuvan Arora, escaping the clutches of Michael Vednayagam, a determined Special Task Force officer played by Vijay Sethupathi, and crime boss Mansoor Dalal, played by KK Menon.

Vijay Sethupathi is all set to reprise his role in the second season.

The story will follow Sunny and Feroze as they try to expand their fake operation while facing threats from Michael and Mansoor.

When will Counterfeit 2 release?

According to an exclusive report by Variety India, Counterfeit 2 Expected to premiere by mid-2027.
