Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil, who is one of the producers of the Bethlehem Kudamba unit, reacted to the impressive box office of Rs 332 crore earned by the film, claiming that he or another co-producer would get a share of the huge number.

“None of us will get even half of the Rs 300 crore they are talking about. This is the total collection,” he said in a chat with Q Studio.

Even though the Bethlehem Kadamba unit has grossed Rs 326 crore worldwide, about half of that usually goes to international agents, exhibitors and distributors. After deducting the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the manufacturers get the rest.

In the case of the Bethlehem Kadamba unit, it is produced by Bhavana Studios, owned by the film’s three producers – Fahadh Faasil, actor-filmmaker Dilesh Pothan, and screenwriter Syam Pushkaran.

It is distributed by Bhavana Releases, Future Runup Films, and Mythri Movie Makers, best known for backing Allu Arjun’s blockbuster franchise Pushpa.

“The fact that Bethlehem is a success is something that makes me very happy and proud. It’s not just me. There’s Girish, Shyam and Dilesh. I see it as a collective success of all of us. I don’t see it as my success alone,” Fahad added.

Released on 21 August, the film, directed by Girish AD and produced by Bhavna Studios, stars Fahadh Faasil, Dilesh Pothan and Siyam Pushkaran in lead roles.

It emerged as the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time and the sixth highest-grossing Indian film of 2026.

The fictional short film Soulmates – Oru Sathukudi Pranayama, which is depicted in the film, was later released as a standalone short film on YouTube on 30 August 2026.

The movie is streaming on JioPlus Hotstar from October 2.
