Eminent actor Nana Patekar was cremated with official honors at Pune Farm House

Veteran actor Nana Patekar was cremated with full state honors amid chants of “Nana Amar Rahe” (Nana Amar Rahe) at Donje Farm House in Pune on Thursday. Nana Patekar had said that according to his colleagues, he wants to perform the last rites at his farmhouse.

Nana Patekar’s son Malhar offered fire to Chikha.

Film personalities including Jackie Shroff, Sajid Nadiadwala and Anil Sharma were present at his funeral along with several political figures. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also reached the actor’s native village to pay his last respects.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid tribute to Nana Patekar at the Pune airport before leaving for Mumbai.

Nana Patekar died of a heart attack at his home in Goa. He was 75 years old.

According to NDTV sources, Nana Patekar – who was at home with his nephew Prasad Patekar – was complaining of headache since last night. The actor was later found unconscious, after which he was rushed to the hospital. Information shared by Manipal Hospital said that doctors tried to resuscitate him for about 45 minutes after bringing him, but there was no response.

The actor was declared dead at 5:20 am.

Born on January 1, 1951 in Maharashtra, Nana Patekar is known for his intensity, dialogue delivery, and ability to portray complex, unconventional characters. A recipient of three National Film Awards, he was known for his work in films Natsamrat, wajud, parinda, ab tak chappan, And YashwantMore among themselves.

He made his debut in Bollywood with the 1978 film Gaman In the early 2000s, Nana Patekar received acclaim for his performances Shakti: The Power (2002), Ab Tak Chappan (2004), Abduction (2005), And Taxi No. 9211 (2006). He also got a lot of appreciation for playing the role of gangster ‘Uday Shetty’ in the comedy Welcome (2007) And its sequel Welcome Back (2015).

Nana Patekar was also a recipient of the Padma Shri, which he was awarded in 2013 for his contribution to cinema and the arts.

The actor was last seen in public four days ago in Goa’s Dona Paula, where he attended and addressed the Samrat Club International inauguration ceremony.
