International trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s film Ramayana: The Rise of a Legend is out, and it looks completely different from the Hindi trailer released in July.
Although both give glimpses of great mythological epics, the scenes depicted in them are not exactly the same.
The Hindi trailer focused on introducing the characters and establishing the story, from Lord Rama’s life in Ayodhya to his exile and the abduction of Sita by Ravana. The international trailer, which is short, skips many of these moments and focuses more on the action, with some new scenes.
1. Kunal Kapoor as Inder Dev
One of the new additions to the international trailer is a glimpse of Kunal Kapoor as Inder Dev. This character was not shown in the Hindi trailer.
The international version shows Indra Dev with his mount, an old white elephant. Although it’s a brief look, the scene offers a glimpse of another important figure from Hindu mythology that was missing from the previous trailer.
2. Ravana praying before a huge idol of Lord Shiva
Another scene that didn’t make it into the Hindi trailer shows Ravana praying before a giant idol of Lord Shiva.
As Ravana raises his hand in prayer, fire erupts from the earth and engulfs him. The dramatic scenes make the scene stand out in the international trailer.
3. Jatayu’s battle with Ravana is long
Both trailers show Jatayu trying to stop Ravana from abducting Sita, but the international version gives more screen time to the sequence.
In the Hindi trailer, the conflict is brief. The international trailer, however, shows Jatayu attacking Ravana’s Pushpak Vimana before taking off in the air in an attempt to protect Sita.
The extended sequence gives a better look at Jatayu’s fight against Ravana and makes the rescue attempt more prominent than in the previous trailer.
4. More action, less storytelling
The biggest difference between the two trailers is how they tell the story. The Hindi trailer spent a lot of time introducing the characters and showing the events leading up to the confrontation between Rama and Ravana.
It depicted the events of Rama’s life in Ayodhya, his marriage to Sita, his 14 years of exile, and his abduction. It also featured Dasharatha and his consorts, Kaikai, Surpankha and Swayamvara Krama.
The international trailer omits these parts almost entirely. There is no scene presenting Kaikeyi, Surpankha, or Dasaratha with their wives. Instead, it has more action involving Lord Rama.
The ending is also different. In the international trailer, Ravana is being attacked by several warriors, but he remains unfazed and launches a fierce counterattack. This scene was not part of the Hindi trailer.
5. Unseen moments between Rama and Sita
The international trailer also features some previously unseen moments between Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama and Sai Pallavi’s Sita. These glimpses were not part of the Hindi trailer released in July and give a little more insight into the couple’s relationship in the film. While the earlier trailer focused on the events of their marriage and their separation, the new version includes additional moments featuring the two characters.

The Hindi trailer is longer than the international version
There is also a noticeable difference in the runtime of the two trailers. The Hindi trailer is four minutes and nine seconds long, while the international trailer is only two minutes and 30 seconds long.
Despite being short, the international trailer introduces several new scenes aside from the story and character introductions shown in the Hindi version.
The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, part 1 of Ramayana It is slated for a worldwide release on November 5, while part 2 will arrive in Diwali 2027.
These films will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
