Indian Institute of Educational Theater (IIET), Mysore is all set to present a special weekend of Hindi theater with two productions of Abhinay Gurukul, Jodhpur on 20th and 21st June at 6:00 pm at the IIET campus, Hardwick School Campus on JLB Road.

The 60-minute production revolves around 34-year-old Manjari, who lives with and takes care of her aging father. While cleaning the house, she finds an old family album which takes her down memory lane. Through these memories, the audience witnesses the unconditional love, sacrifices and tireless efforts of parents, especially of a father who dedicated his life to bring happiness to his children. An IIET press release said the play is a poignant reflection on family bonds, gratitude and remembrance.
Spectators can experience on Sunday infectionThe 75-minute play, based on the work of late Kamatanath, has also been designed and directed by Aru and Swati Vyas.
The play highlights the perspectives of a father, a son and a mother, piecing together the emotional complexities of a typical family. It explores the enduring conflict between generations, as a father seeks recognition for his struggles and sacrifices, while his son questions and challenges his worldview. The mother serves as a silent bridge between the two, offering a poignant lens through which the truth of the family emerges, the release said.
IIET’s Cheluvaraj said, “Both shows promise powerful storytelling and compelling performances that will appeal to audiences across generations.”
