Amit Trivedi expressed disappointment over his inability to cast his vote for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Amit also went to exercise his voting right for the fifth phase of elections held in Mumbai. However, he later posted a video in which he mentioned his name being missing from the voter list. Amit Trivedi’s name missing from voter list
Amit posted a video message on his Twitter handle in which he said, “I went to vote today and as soon as I reached the booth, I showed them a receipt (with the booth number printed on it).. As you You can see ‘No. 1080’, now it was given to me by the officials present there, so from where you got your receipt. Go back and get it fixed. So I went back and there was a huge queue, after waiting there for 30 minutes I reached the guy and he checked some books and papers and that search continued for another 30 minutes. Finally he said ‘Sorry sir, you can’t vote.’ He captioned his post, “Voting is our constitutional right. Today I have been deprived of that right and I feel helpless.” Has this happened to anyone else?? #Elections?
Amit Trivedi clarified his statement on Twitter
One user commented, “So you should try and check online where all your details are listed by @ECISVEEP… You can search by ID number or mobile number, this will save a lot of hassle.” Another person wrote, “Why didn’t you check your part number and serial number yourself through @ECISVEEP web/app facility. It is quite strong and useful.” Amit later replied to his own tweet and wrote, “I have seen your replies here. To make it clear, all online due diligence and checking was already done. Another family member and I were in the right booth, one had to vote and the other did not.”
Amit is credited as a playback singer in popular films like Andhadhun, Kedarnath, Badhaai Do and RRR.
