Kriti was speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2026 on Saturday, October 24. She was part of a session on The Making of a Modern Star, during which she discussed her journey in the film industry and her perspective on her work and body image.

Speaking about the mixed reviews and audience response to the films, Kriti said that while everyone wants their films to do well and receive acclaim, not everything is in their control.
“I love when my films get polarized views. I got long messages for Tere Ishq. It made you feel something. Love it or hate it. I think watching a film is a personal experience. It’s subjective. Art is like that. Art is meant to be felt and experienced. I’m my biggest critic,” Kriti Sanon at the NDTV World Summit.
The actress also explained that she examines her own performance and is more concerned about whether she has given her best rather than external criticism.

Kriti’s glamorous look in Cocktail 2 has been widely discussed, especially her bikini scenes. Addressing whether she felt any pressure to look a certain way, the actress said that being comfortable in her own skin was more important than fitness for a scene like this.
Kriti Sanon said, “I feel like I’m my own biggest critic. I scrutinize myself so much that I’m more upset about that than anything else. For me, if I think I haven’t done my best, that bothers me the most. Yes, we all face scrutiny for everything today. I was actually very excited about my role in Cocktail 2. I had a bikini scene. Done, that’s a fit 2 scene for you after 1 year. Be comfortable in your own skin.”
The actress further revealed that she was not comfortable doing scenes six to eight years ago. She credits her personal growth and evolving relationship with her body for helping her embrace the role.
She added, “The bikini scene in Cocktail 2 came at the right time. I had never worn a bikini in my life till then. I wouldn’t have done it six-eight years ago. I have grown and evolved with time. Now, I am comfortable in my body. The scene came at the right time. I wear this bikini now when I can.”
