Director Nitesh Tiwari The Ramayana He will be seen playing Raavan’s brother Vibhishan, which he describes as a life-changing role. In this exclusive chat with NDTV, Harish Usman, excited about the shooting of Part 2, talks about working with Ranbir Kapoor and how Nitesh Tiwari is. The Ramayana is set to shock the audience.
Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the role of Ram in the mythological epic, is known for his exceptional acting, consistently garnering accolades with his performances. Working with Ranbir for the first time was an important experience for Harish, who shared the screen with two big stars, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash in the film.
“I have done one scene with Ranbir so far, and I think this will be part of the second part. We all know Ranbir is a good actor, but to experience a scene face-to-face was something else. It was great to see how an actor can communicate so much through a performance and let you react naturally. The performance improves with every take – he makes the scene better through minor nuances when that energy is transferred to the actor opposite him. If it bounces, it is easy to react ARM the actor
Harish, who is often typecast as a police officer or a villain in South Indian films, admits The Ramayana can help separate him from that image.
“In 2018, I stopped doing films in any language because I felt like I was being typecast as a police officer or a villain. The roles would have different outfits, but the character arcs were essentially the same. I didn’t work for a whole year, and the break helped me pull myself together and learn to turn down roles I didn’t want to do. I started saying, and Even today I continue to say no more often.
“I am happy with the roles I am doing now. The Ramayana Especially exciting because it offers me a completely different kind of character, and it’s a film on such a large scale. I look forward to seeing how this film changes my career and how the audience perceives me.
“I’m still working on overcoming typecasting, but I’ve made significant progress in learning to say no. If you ask me what The Ramayana What that will do for my career, I honestly don’t know. But I hope people will notice me and realize that there is an actor like me out there. The look that comes with a film of this scale is what I’m really looking forward to,” said Harish, expressing hope and gratitude.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, The Ramayana Hans Zimmer and A.R. Features music by Rahman and is made on a big budget. The film will be released in two parts. Asked if he believes it will be an unforgettable cinematic experience for Indian audiences, Harish said, “Definitely. Everyone knows. The RamayanaBut what is important is how Nitesh Tiwari has interpreted it.
He adds, “The story has been presented in different forms over the years. A two-part film, six hours in total, the challenge is how to tell the whole story without losing its essence. I really liked how particular Nitesh was about the dialogues. There were situations where he wanted to deliver the same lines and words differently. He paid close attention to these details.
“I’m sure it will be an authentic one The Ramayana which retains the essence of the original story while presenting it on a larger scale. It will definitely be an experience for the audience. When people think of Vibhishana and other characters, they may already have the faces of earlier incarnations in mind. But I believe that this Ramayana will give the audience new faces for these characters, and these images will stay with them for a long time.
