Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Unyal has refused to apologize to singer Daler Mehndi for their recent public confrontation, contradicting earlier reports that he expressed regret over the incident. In an interview with Satya Vani, the minister said he did nothing wrong and questioned why he should apologize to the singer.

When asked if he had apologized to Daler Mehndi, Unyal dismissed the suggestion, saying, “Mera mafi mangne ka pradeshhi hi hai (There is no question of me apologizing).”

The minister questioned whether he had done anything wrong for which he should apologise. “Ye batao, maine koi pradh kiya hai jo mafi mangu? (Tell me, have I committed a sin that I should apologise for?),” he said during the interview.

Unyal also expressed displeasure over reports claiming that he had apologized to the singer. He argued that if Daler Mehndi was sick, he should have either canceled his performance or informed the organizers and the audience about his condition in advance.

“If he was sick, he should not have come. Even if he had come, he should have told the audience that he was sick,” the minister said.

Questioning who was responsible for the dispute, Unyal added, “Maine kehta hoon, kasurami kaun hai? (I ask, who is to blame?)”. He said that an apology should be sought from the person who made the mistake.

Why was there speculation about forgiveness?

Earlier reports said that Unyal had apologized to Daler Mehndi after the incident. A statement from Mika Singh’s team, quoted by IANS, indicated that the minister expressed regret during a telephone conversation with the singer.

The statement said, “We appreciate that Subodh Unyal ji has apologized to Daler Mehndi Paji for the telephone conversation regarding the unfortunate incident. Respecting artists and their dignity is very important. Daler Paji is a senior artist who has contributed a lot to the music industry, and every artist deserves to be treated with respect.”

Speaking to IANS, Mika Singh also revealed that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had invited the two brothers to the state.

Mika later addressed the controversy at a press conference, where he spoke about his interaction with Dhami and praised the chief minister’s handling of the situation.

“Just this morning, I spoke to my elder brother, dear friend, and a person I respect a lot, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Whenever I go to Dehradun, he meets me very warmly and very lovingly. The way he interacted with Daler Paji and me was very polite and polite, although I consider him a polite, but I called him Minister. It was not necessary. Because he didn’t do anything wrong.”

What happened at the Uttarakhand demonstration of Daler Mehndi?

Controversy erupted when state minister Subodh Unyal stopped a bold mehndi demonstration at the Siddhapeeth Maa Kunjapuri tourism and development fair in Uttarakhand.

The minister alleged that the singer was under the influence of alcohol and was lip-syncing during a performance during a religious function during Navratri.

The incident gained attention after the performance was disrupted, prompting a reaction from Mika Singh, who spoke up for his elder brother and stressed the need to treat artists with respect.
