Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda addressed the criticism surrounding their relationship after their appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 9.
Now, a portion of Rashmika’s statement has drawn attention on social media, with an internet user comparing her words to a scene from her film. animalCo-starring Ranbir Kapoor.
Rashmika shared a long note on Instagram addressing the criticism of her relationship with Vijay. In a part of the statement, she talked about how Vijay supported her in difficult moments.
“When I break a bone, you’re not there. That’s it. When my stomach hurts every month, you’re not there. That’s it. When I wake up in the middle of the night worried, you’re not there. That’s it,” she wrote.

In the scene shared by the user, Rashmika’s character is seen clashing with her parents about the support she received from her husband during difficult times including her pregnancy and childbirth. “Then you should have shown me when I was pregnant,” she says.
The scene also features his character saying, “He’s my father, mother, brother, boyfriend, husband, everything.”

Rashmika Mandana shared the statement
Reacting to the online comments, Rashmika shared a lengthy statement on Instagram.
“My dear people of the internet, to all those who love deeply and to those who are permanently bitter. My 2 cents on this whole issue regarding me and Viju.”
“I don’t usually address these things because everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Sometimes, I even enjoy reading them and getting a different perspective. But the current obsession with our interviews feels less like people having opinions and more like an angry mob looking for someone to take out.”
Rashmika added that the discussion did not focus on what the couple was trying to convey.
“Somewhere along the way, the whole point got lost. Maybe it doesn’t fit your lens. Maybe some of you don’t want to see it. I’m writing this because I want to protect people who believe in love, and I hope everyone finds their own version of it.”
“All of our and mine and your profiles have been bombarded with unsolicited comments, comments and unsolicited advice. The faith with which people came at us shook me a little. I was like, FK what’s going on?”
During their appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 9, host Karan Johar asked the couple about who proposed. Rashmika revealed that she first brought up the topic of marriage when they were sitting at the airport, telling Vijay that they should get married.
However Vijay tells her to ask him “100 times” before she agrees. Rashmika later clarified that she had broached the subject repeatedly for a full year before deciding to get married in February 2026.
Addressing the discussion, Rashmika said that people have misunderstood the point of her conversation.

Vijay made it clear that he was unfazed by the criticism, “If it’s me and him against the world – so be it. Much love to those who celebrate the simplicity of living with love and happiness.”
He ended his post with a scathing reply to those who continued to criticize him, writing, “Now, without any intention of kindness or respect, everyone else can go off on their own. :)) Devarakonda Vijay Sai.”
