Tributes from the film fraternity started pouring in soon after news of media baron Ramoji Rao’s demise broke on Saturday morning. Directors, producers, actors and technicians who grew up watching his work and contribution to cinema and Telugu journalism shared memories of their interactions with Ramoji Rao and recalled his contribution to cinema and media, which in turn helped provide employment to thousands of people in the Telugu states.
Several production houses of the Telugu film industry also decided to halt film promotions as a mark of respect.

Soon after paying tributes to Ramoji Rao in Hyderabad, director SS Rajamouli said, “One man through his 50 years of resilience, hard work and innovation provided employment, livelihood and hope to millions.” He said the true tribute to the media baron would be to honour him with the Bharat Ratna.
Actor-producer and Hindupur constituency MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna recalled Ramoji Rao’s contribution to the field of media, entertainment and journalism. In a social media post, he said, “Ramoji Rao Garu A true trailblazer whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. His dedication and commitment to excellence was unparalleled, and his impact on Telugu media and culture is incomparable. As the visionary behind Ramoji Film City, Ramoji Rao garu’s innovative spirit made it a hub of creativity and a premier destination for cinematic excellence. On behalf of my family and myself, I offer my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.”

Actor Allu Arjun said that Ramoji Rao’s aura was unmistakable whenever he visited Ramoji Film City for film shooting. Referring to Ramoji Rao as a pioneer and an inspiring visionary whom he greatly respects, the actor said, “His unparalleled contribution to media, cinema and many other industries will never be forgotten. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May his great soul rest in peace.”
Superstar Rajinikanth described Ramoji Rao as his mentor and well-wisher. “The man who created history in journalism, cinema and politics and was a great kingmaker. He was my guide and inspiration in my life. May his soul rest in peace,” he said in a post on Twitter.
Actor Naresh called Ramoji Rao the “pillar” of his film career and a source of inspiration. “As a colossus in the Telugu film industry, he took its prominence to remarkable heights. I am heartbroken by this loss and offer my heartfelt condolences to his family.”
Actor, writer and director Rahul Ravindran recalled how Ramoji Rao helped generate employment and provided livelihood to thousands of people (through cinema and media) and described RFC (Ramoji Film City) as “the product of his vision, enterprise and tireless work ethic”. He said such contributions cannot be made possible in a lifetime.
Superstar Chiranjeevi, actor Ravi Teja, anchor and actress Suma Kanakala and others also paid tribute. From the Hindi film industry, director Kunal Kohli was among the first to offer his condolences.
