Anushka Sharma poses with Dhanashree as she celebrates India’s win over Pakistan in T20 World Cup

New York: It was a proud moment for the entire nation as Team India created history by registering a thrilling six-run win over Pakistan in a thrilling ICC T20 World Cup match. It became the team to defend the lowest score in the history of the tournament. The match was full of emotions which thrilled cricket fans.

However, the match also saw happy moments as Virat Kohli’s biggest supporter, his wife and actress Anushka Sharma was overwhelmed with emotions after the team’s win. After the thrilling match, Anushka Sharma happily posed with Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma and others.

Capturing the proud moment, Dhanashree shared a post-match group photo on her Instagram handle, along with the caption, “We won.”

Anushka can be seen wearing a blue oversized shirt over a white T-shirt, which she paired with blue denim.

After the game ended and the tricolour was lit up at the Nassau County Stadium in New York, the fans present in the stadium wasted no time and started dancing energetically to the sound of their drums.
Jasprit Bumrah’s three wickets put pressure on the Pakistani batsmen and Rishabh Pant’s counter-attack helped India register a narrow win at the Nassau County Stadium. With this win, India’s dream of winning the World Cup is still alive with two more group stage matches to be played.

Pakistan won the toss and invited India to bat first. However, the Indian batsmen did not perform well on this difficult surface as star openers Virat Kohli (4) and Rohit Sharma (13) failed to score big. Rishabh Pant (42 off 31 balls, six fours) was playing on a different pitch and he made useful partnerships with Axar Patel (20 off 18 balls, two fours and a six) and Suryakumar Yadav (seven off eight balls, a four). However, the lower middle order crumbled under the pressure of scoring runs on such a difficult pitch and India could score just 119 runs in 19 overs.

Haris Rauf (3/21) and Naseem Shah (3/21) were the top bowlers for Pakistan. Mohammad Aamir took two wickets while Shaheen Shah Afridi took one wicket.

Pakistan took a more composed approach in the run-chase and Mohammad Rizwan (31 off 44 balls, a four and a six) held one end up. However, Bumrah (3/14) and Hardik Pandya (2/24) also got crucial wickets of captain Babar Azam (13), Fakhar Zaman (13), Shadab Khan (4), Iftikhar Ahmed (5) to keep the pressure on Pakistan. With 18 runs needed in the final over, Naseem Shah (10*) tried to seal the win for Pakistan, however, Arshdeep Singh (1/31) ensured Pakistan fell behind by six runs.
Bumrah received the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his match-winning spell.

After this thrilling win, India is at the top of Group A with two wins and four points from two matches. Pakistan is at the fourth spot, having lost both its matches to USA and India. Their chances of reaching the knockout stage look slim.
