The much-awaited trailer of Kalki 2898 AD released recently and went viral for its visuals and the first looks of the actors like Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani. But the trailer of the film is now making headlines for the wrong reasons.
South Korean concept illustrator and designer Sung Choi, who has worked on several big-budget Hollywood films, took to Instagram to accuse the makers of Kalki 2898 AD of plagiarism.
In an Instagram post, Choi shared a screenshot of the upcoming film’s trailer, which shows a photo. Similar to the work they did called Crash Site of ARK which they did almost 10 years agoThe post was earlier captioned, “Unauthorised use of artwork is a wrong practice. It makes me question doing art in this chaotic environment.” The caption has now been edited and only mentions the hashtag and the film’s name and production banner.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 A.D. is set in a horrifying future and also stars Shobana, Anna Ben, Brahmanandam among others. The film is slated to hit the big screens on June 27.
