New Delhi: Amid the ongoing personal feud between veteran star Govinda and wife Sunita Ahuja, several interviews and statements are being given related to cheating allegations against the actor. Now, Govinda’s nephew and popular Bhojpuri star Vinay Anand, while talking to HindiRush podcast, rubbished all the rumors and also recalled how Govinda was among the highest earners in the late 80s and 90s.
“I wanted to ask Govinda about this but I didn’t want to give him the impression that I was interfering in his personal matter because he is my uncle and I have this fatherly relationship with him.”

Vinay admitted that finally he couldn’t control himself and decided to ask Govinda about their affair rumours. Recalling the conversation, she said, “But I once asked him if he had an affair with anyone? He told me, ‘No, it’s not like that.’ When Govinda refused, I agreed, but when I watch aunty’s (Sunita) interviews, I feel a little strange, because we have always seen her respecting Govinda.

talking about Sunita is making her debut in an untitled film produced by Ekta Kapoor. Vinay said, “But I am happy that now she is working, she has become a celebrity and has made a name for herself. We had seen her confined to the four walls of the house and now seeing her work makes me very happy. I think every woman should be independent.”

‘Govinda is a superstar’
Vinay said, “I have been very inspired by Govinda all my life. Not just me, when he became number one, the entire country was inspired by him. There was not a single superstar who was not copying him or dancing like him. Even people who did not know how to dance started dancing because of him.”
Vinay said, “He is a superstar, Govinda, today he will stand at one place and easily get 25-30 lakh rupees. These people are calling him poor… these people are idiots. People are writing that Govinda will come on the streets, this will happen with Govinda… Hey fools, where are you, for whom are you talking nonsense. He is the superstar of the 90s who charges crores of rupees for films.”
“When Lokhandwala used to cost Rs 12-13 lakh flat. He used to charge Rs 1 crore for a film. How can you say that he has come on the streets. After doing 70-80 films, he might have earned what Govinda did in 5 films…and who knows how many stars would be roaming around who would not have money. What kind of stupid things can you say about such a big legend.
What influence did Govinda’s mother have on him?
Vinay recalled an incident on the birthday of Govinda’s mother Nirmala Devi. He said, “When it was my grandmother’s birthday, he (Govinda) came, washed her feet in a plate and then drank water.”
On the personal front, Sunita Ahuja has started vlogging and her YouTube channel is getting a lot of love from fans. Govinda and Sunita Ahuja got married in 1987. The couple has a daughter, Narmada ‘Tina’ Ahuja, and a son, Yashvardhan.
