But director Manoj Taparia’s ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ takes a completely different and untouched route away from the old path of destruction. Inspired by the true events that took place at Mumbai’s ‘Kama Hospital’ during the 2008 terror attacks, the film takes us through that dark night from the perspective of a nurse named ‘Geeta Madhav’ (Kangana Ranaut). Though the names have been changed and some dramatic layers have been added for cinematic freedom, the intent of the film is very clear – it is not a story of snakes in the sleeve (terrorists), but of brave men who silently carry out their duty despite the rain of bullets all around.

Unique and Unheard Subject: The biggest USP of this film is its story. Many movies have been made on 26/11 but the selfless spirit of the doctors and nurses of Cama Hospital has been brought to the screen like this for the first time.

Emotional Connect: Director Manoj Taparia has succeeded in creating scenes that make the audience directly feel the fear, uncertainty and tension of that fateful night. The humanity of the nurses caught between life and death touches the hearts of the audience.

Perfect Cinematography and Production: The production design of the film makes the hospital atmosphere completely realistic. The camera work and background score double the atmosphere of suspense and dread without overpowering it.

Where is the deficiency? (what is bad)

Slow Pace: In the middle part of the film (second quarter) the screenplay struggles a bit to maintain its pace.

Weak Characters: Some of the supporting characters could have been given a bit more time, allowing their backstories to deepen. Had the second half of the film been a little tighter, the impact would have been stronger.

The entire star cast of the film has done full justice to their characters.

Kangana Ranaut (as Geeta): Kangana has handled this serious subject with utmost sincerity and poise. She strikes a great balance between the vulnerability of an ordinary woman and her silent strength in times of crisis. His dedication on screen strengthens the film.

Girija Oak (as Sheetal): Girija infuses her performance with incredible warmth and authenticity. His character emerges as the most believable part of the film.

Smita Tambe (as Tripathi): Smita has left a deep impression with her raw and effective acting. He has portrayed the strong will of the frontline workers very well on screen.

Supporting Actors: Actors like Asha Sheller, Priya Arun Barde and Rasika Agashe have collectively played an important role in making the atmosphere of the film believable and real.
