The film was initially slated to hit the theaters in January this year, but its release had to be repeatedly postponed due to non-clearance from the Censor Board (CBFC). Meanwhile, Vijay’s party won the Tamil Nadu assembly elections and he was sworn in as the new chief minister of the state.
