On the occasion of her 16th wedding anniversary, Celina Jaitley shared a reflective post on her Instagram feed saying that she didn’t give up without a fight. The actress also said that she tried to keep her family together for the sake of the children.

Celina Jaitley is fighting an ‘ugly’ divorce battle with estranged husband Peter Haug, who filed for divorce in an Austrian court last year. In her Instagram posts, Selena repeatedly mentioned that she was not allowed to see her children, who were with her husband in Austria, despite several requests.

“Photos of light and dark .. a reflection of how my life is going .. September 18th marks our 16th anniversary of our Hindu wedding, and tomorrow, September 23rd, marks 16 years since our marriage registration in Austria. I have no celebration to share. Just a thousand, heartfelt apologies and prayers for my children.

“There are some feelings you’ll never find words for. You’ll learn to name them after the people who gave them.

“I’m still learning how to go back and read my own chapters without feeling like I want to set all my pages on fire,” Selina began the note with these words.

“When I look back on my marriage, there is one truth I can hold close: Despite the pain, trauma and abuse, I did everything in my power to keep my family together for the sake of my children,” she added.

“Today, my deepest prayer is for my children, who live at the center of it all. May their innocent hearts be protected. May they feel their mother’s love from every distance. May they receive the peace, tenderness and security that every child deserves.

“They deserve a childhood, they don’t have to spend their adult lives fixing it,” Selena signed.

Divorce case status

Peter Haug filed for divorce in an Austrian court last year.

Following Selina’s complaint, the Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against Haag. Peter Haug has reportedly been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for alleged physical violence, cruelty, criminal intimidation and persistent harassment.

Authorities are gathering statements and evidence, while investigators are reviewing documents and records as part of the investigation.

Celina Jaitley married Peter Haug in 2010 after moving away from mainstream Bollywood. The couple welcomed twin boys in 2012, followed by another set of twins in 2017.
