Bigg Boss 20 Contestant Riti Tiwari sparked a huge controversy online after she opened up about her financial struggles and claimed that she gets a monthly allowance of Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000.

Following these comments, Punjabi singer Ekam Bawa, who says he is Riti’s former stepfather, questioned the claims and advised her to stop lying on television. In a video circulated on social media, Ekam alleged that Riti leads a lavish lifestyle which is completely different from what she described on the show.

Sharing a video on Instagram, Ekam said,Who has 4-5 lakh rupees handbags… After that your money has increased a lot. Range Rover is priced at Rs 2.5-3 lakh on diesel. Where have you been with 25,000 rupees? (You have Rs 4-5 lakh handbags… and then you have big cars. Just a Range Rover costs Rs 2.5-3 lakh to maintain. And you are talking about Rs 25,000)?”

He revealed that he was in a live-in relationship with Riti’s mother Rani Tiwari from 2020 to 2022 before getting married on February 18, 2022. He claimed that he, Riti and Rani lived in the same flat.

Ekam further claimed that Riti owns a sports company with a huge turnover and revealed that the company has links with famous cricketers. He also raised questions about properties in Mumbai, asking if Riti and her family could afford the expensive flats she is dependent on for the monthly allowance.

“You have a sports company, the turnover is so huge that even cricketers names are associated with it. How many years has it been going on? That too, that money has come to you. where are you going? Bombay also has such large flats; where are you from (You own a sports company with such a huge turnover that even collectors are attached to it. How many years has this been going on? This money also comes to you. Where does it go? You also have huge apartments in Bombay; where did the money come from)?” he claimed in his video as to where his income comes from.

Ekam also called out Riti for using derogatory comments during a recent fight on the show. He urged Riti to watch her behavior and not lie on national television.

Ekam posted the video after Riti told the other contestants that her father, actor-politician Manoj Tiwari, gives her a monthly allowance of around Rs 20,000-25,000. She said she had to be careful with money, recalling a time when she used to eat two Rs 10 vada pavs a day and put only Rs 500 worth of diesel in her car when needed.
