She played the role of his mother-in-law in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film animalwhere he portrayed the aggressive and volatile Ranvijay Singh. Now, she shares screen space with him again The RamayanaWhere he plays the role of Lord Ram. After watching both performances closely, Indira says the transformation has been amazing.

Speaking about the differences between the two characters, Indira recalled how Ranbir completely immersed himself in the persona of Ranvijay Singh. animal.

“I remember that in animalHe had completely adopted the attitude of Ranvijay Singh. He will walk on set with the same attitude and perform with the same energy. He had this ‘I don’t care’ kind of attitude, and he changed his body language accordingly,” he said.

However, met him on the set The Ramayana It was a completely different experience for him.

“When I met him on the set The RamayanaI was like, ‘Oh my God, what a big change!’ He greeted me, ‘Hello madam, how are you?’ And I was like, ‘What? Is this the same man I’m meeting?”’ she recalled.

Seeing her portray both characters, Indira described the difference as “The difference between earth and sky“(tremendous change)

I have seen him as Ranvijay Singh in the film animal And now as Shri Ram The Ramayana. The difference is like this The difference between earth and sky. Making such a drastic change from a film like animal Playing the role of Sri Ram is not easy for any actor. The trolling he faced when it was announced that he would be playing the role of Sri Ram was terrible. But he took it all in his stride. He did not try to prove himself through words. He proved himself through his skills and his body language,” he said.

Indira also spoke about the responsibility of Ranbir portraying a character as Lord Rama. According to him, the actor understood the importance of the role and kept it in mind throughout the shoot.

He said, “The responsibility of the character of Sri Ram is huge. You are portraying such an important deity through an actor, and people have a lot of faith and emotion attached to the character. Ranbir has understood this responsibility. From the time he came on set, till the end, he maintained that importance.”

She was equally impressed by his dedication and effort to get every scene right. Indira said that Ranbir worked closely with the director, technicians and fellow actors, never letting the demands of the shoot become an excuse.

“All the best to Ranbir. I have to say he is a brilliant actor. There was never a day or a moment when he said, ‘Oh no, it’s not happening.’ The way he thought, the words used on the set and the way he treated the technicians, fellow actors and Niteshji were remarkable. He will never be satisfied with a shot unless Nitesh ji approves it. He always went for more, sometimes at his insistence and sometimes at the director’s. The kind of inputs that Ranbir has given are absolutely unparalleled,” he said.

One of the scenes that stayed with Indra was the scene in which Kaushalya blesses Lord Rama before going into battle. In this scene, Ranbir, wearing heavy armor, needed to bend down and seek his mother’s blessings. Meanwhile, Indira was wearing a costume weighing about 12 kg.

“So, the camera pans between Kaushalya’s face and Ram’s face as they look at each other. It’s an emotional moment between a mother and her son. Ranbir was wearing heavy armor and bent over to take the blessing. We had to coordinate the entire movement carefully. It was a demanding shot, and we spent more than half a day on it,” he said.

Indira also spoke warmly about Sai Pallavi who plays Sita in the film. He described Ranbir and Sai as a particularly grounded and dedicated duo, and said their performance felt natural.

“It was their down-to-earth nature, their dedication to work and their painstaking acting skills. Both of them were so natural that they didn’t have to put in any extra effort to create their characters. But Ranbir worked really hard to bring Ram to life,” he said.

Speaking about Sita’s character of Sai, Indira said that her natural look and personality added to the character.

“Sai Pallavi was very natural as Sita. Her hair was natural, she had a very sweet smile, and her personality is also very calm and composed. She has that natural quality that works beautifully for the character,” said Indira.

The actor recalled a particularly challenging scene in which he had to lift baby Ram while standing on a podium at Film City’s helipad. The podium was more than 50 feet high, and the scene was shot in the sweltering June heat. Wearing her heavy outfit made the experience even more demanding. While a real baby was placed close to her, a baby mold was used for shots in which she had to hold the baby above her head.

Experience working for Indira The Ramayana has been particularly special, not least because it gave her the opportunity to co-star with Ranbir once again, this time in a role that is separate from their relationship. animal.
