Salman Khan has shared a personal family story Bigg Boss 20. The superstar recalled how his maternal grandfather refused to speak to his father Salim Khan five years after his parents’ marriage. The actor explained that his grandfather was unhappy with his mother’s decision to marry an aspiring actor and worried about the kind of life he would have in the film industry.
This has been revealed during the latest episode Weekend timeWhen Salman praised the contestants for taking a stand against domestic violence. Making his point, the host talked about how disagreements within families can sometimes lead to years of separation, sharing an example from his own life.
Salman clarified that his maternal grandparents’ objection to the marriage had nothing to do with religion. Instead, she was worried about her daughter’s future with someone who was trying to make a career in movies.
The actor shared,When my parents got married, it had no religious meaning. The only thing that bothered my grandfather was that she was getting married to a good-looking man who wanted to be an actor and was in the film industry. He was angry“
Explaining his grandfather’s concerns, Salman added, “Nana said that she is my daughter, how will she live in this world?” The actor then revealed that his grandfather kept a distance from Salim Khan for five years after their marriage.
“He has not spoken to my father for five yearsSalman said.
The silence finally ended after the birth of Salman’s younger brother Sohail Khan. Salman recalled how his maternal grandfather had traveled from Mahim to Bandra with a box of jalebis to meet the family.
“Then he came to Bandra from Mahim, took a box of jalebi. Come on, he then expressed his regret that I had made a huge mistake in missing out on raising my grandchildren.He said.
According to Salman, later his grandfather regretted the time he lost by staying away from the family. The years of separation meant missing important moments in his grandchildren’s lives and the opportunity to bond with Salim Khan, whom Salman called “the best man on earth”.
The actor also recalled the understanding that his grandfather eventually established with his mother. He told her that he was always welcome to visit her, but he didn’t want her to leave his house after a fight.
Recalling his words, Salman said, “Similarly, you can come anytime, but you won’t come because of a fight.”
