Soon after the shooting, an audio message went viral on social media in which a man identified himself as Anil Pandit and claimed to be Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother. He allegedly said that he and another person Harman Sandhu took responsibility for what happened to Tiger Shroff.
The person claimed that the actor was warned earlier but failed to heed the instructions. He also alleged that the attack was linked to Shroff’s relationship with Salman Khan.
“In the entire film industry, anyone who works without an alliance with us, or works with Salman Khan, will be killed. This is the first and last warning,” Aadmi said in the audio message.
He also reiterated the threat against Salman Khan, saying that unless the actor apologizes to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community, no one in his family, including his pet dogs, will be spared. The alleged threat appears to reflect the long-running controversy surrounding Salman Khan’s alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which Lawrence Bishnoi described as a crime against the Bishnoi community.
The claims made in the audio message have not been independently verified.
In 2023, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) said that Salman Khan topped the list of 10 people who allegedly planned to kill Lawrence Bishnoi. The gangster reportedly cited the actor’s involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which he claimed had angered the Bishnoi community.
The shooting comes two years after former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12, 2024 in Mumbai’s Bandra area. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder, citing Siddique’s close friendship with Salman Khan.
Television actor Karan Vir Mehra, who plays football with Tiger Shroff in Juhu, was traveling in a car behind the actor’s vehicle when the shooting took place. Speaking to NDTV about an hour after the incident, the Bigg Boss 18 winner described the chaos at the scene.
“My car was right behind, you know, when we left the gate, by the time my car arrived, all I saw was bloodstains, and I found out that Tiger’s driver had been shot, so, I’m happy that, you know, he (Tiger Shroff) is safe, but my heart goes out to the driver, and I hope he’s going to be OK … Every kid out there was having a birthday party; helter-skelter,” he said. said
Mehra added that he did not see the attackers and initially struggled to understand what was happening as people nearby were also celebrating with fireworks.
“My car was a bit behind, and there were a lot of people taking photos. We just heard some gunshots and people shouted that someone had fired because there were people celebrating with fireworks. So we thought it had something to do with it,” he added.
