Tamil actor Karthik Sabesh, son of music director Sabesh and nephew of late composer Deva, died late on Monday at a private hospital in Chennai. He was 37.

Karthik is survived by his wife Ramya Karthik and their two daughters.

According to IANS, the actor had been ill for some time and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. He died at around 11.15 pm on Monday night.

His last rites are to be performed at the Valsaravakkam crematorium in Chennai on Tuesday at 4.30 pm.

Along with Karthik, he appeared in many Tamil films Dum, Valavan, Patthu ie And Cooler 100.

Karthik Sabesh died a few days after Deva’s demise

Karthik’s death comes days after the death of his uncle, music director Deva, who died on Saturday. The ongoing loss has left the family and the Tamil film industry in mourning.

Deva was one of the well-known names in Tamil film music. He has composed music for over 400 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada cinema.

After his death, several prominent personalities including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay paid tributes to the veteran musician.

Deva composed music for many of Rajinikanth’s hit films, including Annamalai, Arunachalam And Basha.
