“I remained silent, hoping that time would heal the hurt and people would move on. But the accusations and negativity leveled at my husband and our family made it impossible to remain silent now.”

Confirming that Asif suffered a heart attack, he said he felt compelled to share his medical reports to find out what he had gone through.

“Having seen Asif’s pain firsthand, I feel I owe it to him and our family to share the truth. Yes, Asif had a heart attack, a massive one. At just 34 years old. It breaks my heart that now I have to share his medical reports to prove what he really was. I never thought he would have to go public for people to believe.”

Zeba also explained why Asif initially described his condition as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) instead of a heart attack. According to him, the actor was worried that disclosing a serious medical condition might affect his career and future projects.

“When Asif initially said it was GERD and not a heart attack, it was out of fear. He was concerned that a serious health condition could cost him projects he had worked hard for and close the door to future opportunities. In an industry where opportunities are uncertain, especially without any support, the fear was real.”

Recalling the severity of her condition, Zeba spoke about the medical emergency and the emotional toll it took on her husband. He said Asif had already lost his father to a heart attack when he was a child, making his own experience particularly frightening.

“I’ll never forget telling him that his main coronary artery was completely blocked, ICU, stents, or holding my husband while crying, afraid of losing the future he dreamed of. Asif lost his father to a heart attack as a child. The survivor brought back the heart attack itself and the fear of leaving his family behind.”

Zeba condemned the abuse and threats against the family

Expressing grief over the way Asif’s health was being discussed, Zeba said the situation has gone beyond criticism. He also alleged that the family has received death threats and rape threats against the actor.

“Seeing his health turned into a joke and his integrity being questioned is very painful. This has gone beyond criticism. We have faced abuse against Asif, death threats and rape threats against our family. Nothing can justify this.”

Questioning the animosity surrounding a reality television show, she urged people to remember that contestants have lives and families outside the home.

“Bigg Boss is an entertainment reality show. When did entertainment become an excuse for cruelty? When did dissent become a reason to threaten one’s life or target one’s family?”

He added that people can disagree with a competitor’s actions without resorting to personal attacks or intending to harm them.

“Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But criticism is not cruelty, and disagreement should never lead to the desire to harm anyone. This is bigger than Asif. Every survivor and every family who has seen a loved one fight for their life deserves pity, not ridicule.”

Zeba ended his statement by urging people to show maximum sympathy towards the reality show contestants and their families.
