A few days are left for the release of Nitesh Tiwari’s excellent film. The Ramayana: Part 1. The film will hit theaters on November 5, a few days before the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Now, it’s time to take a quick look at the epic characters and the actors who brought them to life.

The cast includes some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, the ambitious two-part adaptation brings together actors from different film industries to portray characters whose stories have been told for centuries.

Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita, while Yash plays Ravana, the mighty king of Lanka. With Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey and many other familiar faces, the film’s casting is undoubtedly one of its biggest talking points.

Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram

at the heart of The Ramayana Lord Rama is the prince of Ayodhya whose journey tests his commitment to duty, truth and righteousness. Based on the latest looks that surfaced, Ranbir is seen with a calm, dignified, and understated screen presence, opting for a regal look over an overly muscular physique.

For Ranbir, stepping into the role meant playing a character whose screen identity has been shaped by decades of cultural memory. Ranbir recently appeared on Amitabh Bachchan Who will become a millionaire? Where he shared his thoughts about the image of Lord Rama

.

“When I was offered this role, I knew it was not just a role, it was a huge responsibility. My first instinct was fear. Am I qualified to play this role? Will I be able to do justice to it? Millions of people have faith in Lord Sri Ram. But very soon, that fear turned into gratitude,” he said.

However, the actor added that his initial apprehension soon turned into gratitude as he realized that he had been given an opportunity to play an important character. Ranbir also explained how he got this role when he became a father.

“I felt grateful that I had this opportunity at this stage in my life and to become a better person,” he said.

The actor added that working on the film gave her an opportunity to learn more about the epic and collaborate with people she admires.

Ranbir said, “It is not impossible to be like Lord Ram but it is a big thing for all of us to learn something from him.”

Sai Pallavi Sita

When it comes of the Ramayana An emotional journey, Sita stands at its center. The princess of Mithila, who marries Rama, accompanies him into exile before being abducted by Ravana. His ordeal becomes the catalyst for conflict that eventually brings the armies of Ayodhya and Lanka into battle.

Bringing the character to life is Sai Pallavi, known for her performances in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu cinema.

Sita’s place in the epic is not limited to her relationship with Rama. Her resilience in captivity, refusal to surrender to Ravana’s demands, and determination to maintain her dignity make her one of the most influential figures in the story. Speaking at the film’s first concept event in New Delhi, the star said that playing Sita was unlike any role she had played before.

When asked about stepping into the role, Sai said, “It’s not easy for actors to get roles like this because it’s not easy to play a goddess. It takes a team to make the best version of it.”

The actress also said that she never thought of the role as something that she achieved through planning or ambition. Instead, she believes it has come as a blessing to her.

“I don’t think I chose to play Sita Maa. I’ve been blessed to play this role. It’s not something you can go after and it’s not something you can write and say, ‘I want to play this.’ I would sit and meditate and say, ‘Mother Sita, you work through me. Whatever comes through me is what you want for the film,” said Sai Pallavi.

Yash is Ravana

Ravana is a powerful king of Lanka whose abduction of Sita sets the epic’s central conflict in motion. A powerful ruler and a formidable antagonist, he is also a character whose extraordinary abilities are ultimately undermined by arrogance and a refusal to respect another person’s autonomy.

Yash, who became a pan-Indian star after the success of KGF films, played the role of Ravana. Recently, at a promotional event in Hyderabad, he asked the audience to watch the film with an “open mind” instead of finding “small faults” in its visual effects or other aspects. Yash also talked about Namit Malhotra’s money and effort to put this film on a global platform.

Yash said, “I will request one thing to all of you. Namit Malhotra has played everything on this. Trust me, he has risked his reputation, his money, everything to bring this film to the global platform. After all, cinema is something that people will talk about if they like it.

“One thing I will tell you, please don’t try to find small faults in VFX or other aspects. Opportunities like this don’t come often. If we lose people like him now, it will take years and we will take a step back.”

Ravi Dubey as Laxman

Lakshmana is the younger brother who chooses to accompany Rama into exile, leaving behind the comforts of Ayodhya to stand by him through the challenges that lie ahead. His loyalty is unwavering, but it is not his only defining characteristic. Her character is also characterized by courage, protectiveness and a willingness to face anyone who threatens her family.

Ravi Dubey is playing a role in the film. In an interview with Variety India, the actor said, “I am deeply grateful. All the love and appreciation that has come my way after the trailer, I take it in stride. I hope and pray every day that I act with the integrity that the character demands.”

Ravi also accepted the responsibility that comes with portraying a highly revered character as Lord Lakshmana. The actor said he understands the importance of bringing to the big screen a personality who has been in people’s hearts for generations.

“I am fully aware of the responsibility that comes with portraying someone who has lived in the minds and hearts of people for thousands of years. It is very rare in an actor’s life that perhaps the biggest opportunity of his career so far is also one of the greatest honors of his life. That is for me,” he said.

“What I imagined, that Ram would walk like this, sit like this, look like this and talk like this, I could see all those qualities in him.) Normally, you don’t expect a star to come and touch your feet, but he always does,” said Govil.

Lara Dutta as Rani Kaikai

Kaikeyi is one of the key figures in the events leading to Rama’s exile. Queen of Ayodhya and Bharata’s mother, she asks for two boons granted to her by Dasharatha: India must be crowned king, and Rama must spend 14 years in the forest. Lara Dutta plays the role of Kaikeyi in the film.

Rakul Preet Singh has played the role of Surpankha in the film.

Bharata’s story presents a different expression of loyalty than that of Lakshmana.
