Anupam Kher has defended Daler Mehndi after the singer’s clash with BJP minister Subodh Unyal at a program in Uttarakhand went viral.

Unyal accused Daler Mehndi of being drunk at a cultural program organized as part of Navratri celebrations and asked him to stop singing.

Anupam Kher supported Daler Mehndi saying that he has seen the video of the singer’s performance.

The veteran actor said that Daler did not drink alcohol and revealed that the singer had been ill for some time.

Anupam Kher endorses bold mehndi

In a video, Anupam said that he was saddened by the incident. He questioned the minister’s behavior and asked if it was necessary for Unyal to “insult” Darer in public.

“I can say he doesn’t drink alcohol and he is one of the nicest human beings I have met,” Anupam said of Daler, who had been ill for two-three years.

Anupam said that Darer had performed on the program possibly due to prior commitments with the organization that he could not back out of.

Anupam said, “It is his professionalism that he kept his commitment.

The Khosla Ka Ghosla The actor said Darer may have lip-synced his songs, but it was “unfair” to accuse someone of such on a public platform. He added that the minister could have expressed his concerns privately in a dignified manner.

Anupam also highlighted Daler’s contribution to the music industry and mentioned, “An artist earns recognition and respect through his hard work, he puts his whole life in. Daler has made us all happy with his songs for the last five years. That contribution should be appreciated.”

Anupam Kher asked the industry to support Daler Mehndi

Anupam said it was not Mika Singh’s responsibility alone to support his brother. He also appealed to other personalities of the film industry to defend Darer.

“We should all speak up and take a stand for the people we know,” added the actor.

He said he had confidence in Daler Mehndi’s professionalism and conduct, and ended his video with a wish for the singer’s speedy recovery.

Bold Mehndi Controversy: What Happened?

Mehndi’s performance at the Kunjpuri Mela in Tehri’s Narendra Nagar became the center of controversy when videos of the event showed Unyal objecting to the singer’s performance.

The Narendranagar MLA went on stage and asked Daler to stop singing.

Mehndi was seen requesting Unyal to leave the stage in the video.

Apart from Anupam Kher, Mika Singh and Kapil Sharma have come out in support of bold mehndi.
