Rajkumar Rao plays a challenging role in Prahar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story, where he plays the role of the popular Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. The makers released the trailer on Tuesday, giving a glimpse of the courtroom drama based on one of the most high-profile cases of Nikam’s career.

The trailer opens with Ujjwal Nikam interrogating a young woman about the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. He asks her what she saw on the night of the attacks. What begins as a seemingly routine court proceeding soon takes a disturbing turn.

As the case unfolds, Nikam is determined to bring the culprit to justice. But the court battle is not easy.

Sikandar Kher appears as a lawyer on the other side of the court, while Jaideep Ahlawat appears as part of a delegation from Islamabad.

Wamika Gabbi plays the role of Ujjwal’s wife Jyoti Nikam. While the film focuses on his work in the courtroom, the trailer also hints at the personal side of the prosecutor and the impact of such a high-pressure case on his life.

Rajkummar Rao’s transformation into Ujjwal Nikam is one of the highlights of the trailer. From his looks and body language to his Marathi dialogue delivery, the actor seems to have paid close attention to the details of the character.

The film focuses on the trial of Ajmal Kasab, the lone survivor of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. This is after a legal battle that grabbed the attention of the entire country and explored Nikam’s role in the case.

At the end of the trailer, Kasab is seen taking the witness’s side. He made the shocking claim that he was just a tourist who had come to explore Mumbai at the time of the attack. He also claims that he was not a terrorist and that he was tortured and portrayed as one.

Directed by Avinash Arunbeating Wamika Gabi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher and Tarun Sharma also play the lead roles. The film is slated to release on October 16.
