Janhvi Kapoor has broken her silence on the AI-altered video, which features her Deora: Part 1 the song Chatumalle.

Calling out the misuse of technology to objectify women, the actor said broadcasting fictional content without consent is a “deep violation”.

Sharing a detailed statement, Janhvi said, “Criminal misuse of technology to objectify women and broadcast fictional content without consent is trespassing deeply on the border of sexual harassment. Almost every woman in my industry has faced some form of it, and women everywhere are victims of it.”

He emphasized that consent should never be taken for granted. “Consent, choice and respect for a woman’s body should be among the most basic concepts of humanity, yet, somehow, they are considered complicated. They are not.”

Janhvi also spoke about the importance of respecting a woman’s boundaries regardless of what she wears or what she has agreed to in the past.

She wrote, “It’s amazing how few people still seem to understand that even if a woman says yes five days in a row and says no on the sixth day, she shouldn’t be respected. If she wears a miniskirt, that doesn’t allow anyone to put a camera up her skirt, capture transgressive angles, or draw the line of what a woman is comfortable with. What she chooses to do with her body is a decision that is solely hers.”

The actor said that the issue is much bigger than the AI videos associated with him and speaks to the huge concerns that women constantly face.

“It’s far beyond the AI videos I’ve put out in the last few days, or anything I’ve personally experienced throughout my career. It’s about the larger reality of being a woman, the gaze, the judgment, the constant negotiation for safety, and the sense that our boundaries are somehow open to interpretation. This threat has now spread into digital, when we haven’t really addressed advertising as much. The physical fear that continues to disrupt women’s lives every day. is

Janhvi also called for a change in the way people are taught to think about women’s safety and boundaries.

“The answer can’t just be ‘protecting your daughter’. We also need to reverse the conditioning that makes people believe they are entitled to violate someone else’s boundaries in the first place, and part of that change will come from exemplary men with the moral compass and backbone to clearly say what is right and what is wrong.”

He thanked her Godfather Co-star Junior NTR to speak out against the video

“I am deeply moved by NTR sir for taking such a strong stand and condemning this violation. Thank you, sir. When someone who is looked up to by millions speaks out about something that may not directly concern her, it makes a difference to every woman who has experienced this behavior in some way.”

Janhvi also thanked Chiranjeevi, Vijay and Khushboo Sundar for supporting her and speaking out against the misuse of AI.

“Also thanks to Chiranjeevi sir, Vijay and Khushbu ma’am for raising that spirit and taking action against this mindset and these unethical practices. I hope that what is happening around us forces those who participate in any kind of harassment to do some introspection. Is it too much to ask for a woman to just behave and be seen as a human being?”

She ended her statement with three words that summed up her message: “Her body, her image, her limits, her choice.”

Controversy erupted after a deepfake video created by AI using footage from Chatumallewhich featured Janhvi and Jr. NTR, was aired online. The footage was digitally manipulated to show Janhvi in a lewd and degrading manner.
