Umar Riaz has defended his brother Asim Riaz after the controversy involving his ex-girlfriend Himanshi Khurana. The affair started when Himanshi claimed to have converted during their relationship, which Asim denied. The matter soon came to a head and Asim was heavily criticized.
Omar has now shared how upset he was to see his brother being judged so harshly. He said that Asim usually responds only when he feels it is necessary. At the same time, Omar pointed out that every relationship has good and difficult moments, and people should not focus only on the negative parts.
talking with Times of IndiaUmar Riaz said, “Not everyone will like you, and you can’t please everyone, however, when people tell some lies about you, you have to defend yourself.
“Aasim doesn’t respond until a situation gets to the point where he feels, ‘Now I have to speak my mind.’ Otherwise, people might assume that whatever is said about him is true. What happened this time was very painful. Everyone came out and started humiliating him, and it was painful.
“Everyone goes through tough times, but there must have been good moments in a relationship. Why not talk about them too? Asim is a wonderful person and people love him. The struggles he has faced in the last 10 years are things I have not experienced myself.”
Umar Riaz added that Asim Riaz is currently focusing on his music career. He believes that a real artist spends time creating work rather than trying to attract the attention of photographers. Umar also shared that Asim wrote songs about love and heartbreak for his partner.
As a doctor Umar meets people every day and understands their struggles. On the other hand, Asim worked in modeling, where he faced tough competition. He said that his brother has achieved success through hard work and God’s blessings.
