Deepika Singh has finally cleared the backlash over a video in which she was seen dancing during Ganpati Visarjan. Despite the religious nature of the event, the actor was criticized for his dance moves.
Now, the actor has shared a detailed response explaining that the performance was an experiment with rhythm rather than a typical dance routine. He also questioned why media platforms joined the criticism and wrote, “Wow… media channels with trollers now too? (now also media channels).
Defending her dancing, Deepika added, “It’s called experimenting with rhythm. But yes, for that you need to be educated about art and dance. You need to be open, not rigid.”

He further argued that audiences often become accustomed to familiar forms of performance and thus struggle to accept something that looks different from what they have seen before. “You’re only accepting what you’ve seen so far. Because it’s new and different, it bothers you. I understand,” she wrote.
Deepika added that she considers experimentation to be an essential part of art. He concluded by adding the note, “That’s okay. Not everyone will understand art.”

Deepika further invited an Odissi dancer to troll her dance moves. “My dance offended an odyssey dancer. Thank you for the followers and good reach you got for trolling me later… It hurts when people from your own community add fuel to the fire created by my followers.”
He added, “I have seen artists experimenting with tabla on jazz on Odissi, on Michael Jackson songs, on Bollywood, and juggling with Kathak dancers. At that time no one says it is wrong. They call it fusion.”

The actor added, “Dhol is also a traditional Indian instrument, and if you think I’m doing Odissi, I’m not doing any torso movement here. I’m not doing Tribhangi, the three bows that make Odissi different from other forms. So technically it’s not Odissi.”
Although reactions to the Ganapathi Visarjan video have been divided, Deepika made it clear that she stands by the performance and believes that even unknown artistic choices should be respected.
