Actress Hina Khan has opened up about her trip to Ladakh, describing the experience as a test of endurance. In June 2024, the actor announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. The actor revealed that he had a runny nose every day during his stay and shared a list of travel essentials when visiting the high-altitude region.
In an Instagram post, Hina reflected on how the mountains changed her outlook on life. “Ladakh is not easy at all. It is truly a test of endurance. You realize how insignificant you are and these mountains give you no choice but to slow down,” he wrote.
The actor also emphasized the importance of acclimatization, asking travelers not to underestimate the challenges of high-altitude travel. “Rule No. 1. Please take consent seriously. Ladakh is no joke,” he wrote, adding that he had seen even physically fit people struggle with the conditions.
Hina said she and her companions took precautions during the trip and did not suffer from altitude sickness or need oxygen. However, he revealed that the dry air affected his nasal passages.
“My nose bleeds every day until I get back home because of the congestion in my nasal passages,” she shared. He advised travelers to consider taking saline nasal sprays and nasal moisturizers, gels or oils to help soothe nasal passages in cold, dry conditions.
He also recommends carrying an oxygen backup for remote travel with a pulse oximeter, thermometer and necessary medications. For Ladakh’s changing weather, he suggests warm layered clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, lip balm, throat lozenges and neck gaiters to protect against dust and cold winds.
Hina also advised travelers to carry basic hygiene products, such as tissues, hand sanitizer and toilet seat covers, as facilities may be limited on remote roads. She suggests carrying a power bank, a portable nebulizer for those who need respiratory medicine, and essentials such as wet wipes and a toothbrush kit. He also stressed the importance of staying hydrated with plenty of water and electrolyte drinks.
In her post, she reminded travelers that proper preparation can make all the difference in their experience. “No worries, take proper precautions because it’s all worth it. Proper precautions = great memories,” he wrote.
