Rajkumar Rao is on the promotion of his upcoming film Prahar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam. As the film nears its theatrical release, the lead actor is pulling out all the stops to pique the interest of film buffs.
Recently, he appeared on the Amitabh Bachchan-hosted show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 to promote his biographical courtroom drama alongside co-stars Vamika Gabbi and former special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.
During the September 25 episode, the trio shared several insightful anecdotes with host Amitabh Bachchan. Rajkumar Rao recalls his early days arriving in Mumbai from Delhi, sharing how he used to stand outside Shah Rukh Khan’s mannat to catch a glimpse of his idol.
The actor also reflected on how his travels from Delhi inspired him as an aspiring actor. Amitabh Bachchan, in turn, shared his experience of working with Shah Rukh and talked about the quality he admires most in the superstar.

When the host mentioned their shared Delhi connection during the conversation, Rao said, “Sir, because you are from Delhi yourself, and I also decided at a very young age that I wanted to pursue acting…Also, I used to have a poster of you in my mother’s room because you were always number one, and we all took inspiration from you.”
“I was very inspired by Shah Rukh sir’s journey—how a boy from a middle-class Delhi family started in theatre, did several TV shows, and eventually became a huge superstar. When I first came to Mumbai for a show, though I wasn’t selected, I used to stand outside Mannat’s bungalow right in front of him,” he added.
After this, Big B shared his experience of working with Shahrukh. He said, “I can tell you that I have worked with him and he is the kind of person who does not give up on anybody. No matter what the difficulty is, he just speaks up and boosts the confidence of others.”

The main role of Ujjwal Nikam is played by Rajkumar Rao. The film also stars Wamika Gabi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher. Mark your calendars! The film is slated to hit theaters on October 16, 2026.
