At the trailer launch of the film, Yami was asked if winning this prestigious honor has given him a sense of responsibility and if it will influence his future films and roles.

Yami said that this award has definitely made him feel more responsible as an actor. However, he added that he has always tried to choose roles that excite him and make him want to give his all to a film.

“I feel more of a sense of responsibility. I have always, as an actor, looked for roles that not only interest me as an actor, but the audience always tries to see something original in me,” she said.

Talking about her national award, Yami said she considers it a great honor and validation for artistes across the country.

“I think the National Film Award is a really great honor, and it’s a true validation for any artist in all languages ​​and all formats that you can get in our country. And I take it with all humility. And I’d be lying if I said, ‘No, nothing has changed.’ No, you do. There’s a sense that you feel, yes, there’s an added responsibility to me as an artist, as an actor, to always try to push further, to be more diverse, to work harder and try and win and have this love and respect that you all have literally given me and brought someone like me from a small town to here. And I still feel like there’s a long, long way to go.”

Yami also admits that despite the recognition, he still has a lot to learn.

“There’s a lot for me to learn,” he added.

Yami won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in Section 370. The 2024 political action thriller also won the National Awards for Best Feature Film and Best Music Direction.
