After winning the National Award, Karthik Aryan has resumed shooting for his upcoming drama, Indian captaina, in London. The actor was awarded the best actor award for his performance in Chandu Champion At the 72nd National Film Awards in Gujarat on September 22.

As soon as he returned to the set, he was warmly welcomed by the team. They celebrated their victory by cutting a cake.

Baweja Studios shared a glimpse of the celebrations on their official Instagram handle. Karthik was seen cutting the cake and celebrating his important career milestone with his team.

“Welcome back Captain @kartikaaryan. Team #Captain India So proud to have you back on set and we can’t stop celebrating!! From being a National Award winning director to now a National Award winning actor on board,” read the caption on the post.

Earlier, Karthik posted a video of the National Award ceremony on his Instagram, in which he was seen being felicitated by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.

Recalling that moment, he wrote, “Looking with a loving smile at that mama’s boy from Gwalior who dared to dream of becoming an actor from an environment where people laugh at such dreams and move on. Finally, I saw and lived that moment, still numb with excitement and trepidation.”

Directed by Shimit Amin, the upcoming film is titled by Karthik Aryan. Captain India It is said to be inspired by real-life events and is being mounted as a thriller drama. Backed by T-Series, Baweja Studios and Dopamine Studios, the project is scheduled for a theatrical release during the Independence Day weekend in 2027.
