The wait is almost over for Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited mythological epic. The Ramayana All set to hit theaters tomorrow, November 5th. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravi Dubey as Laxman, the film has been generating a lot of buzz ever since its announcement. From its star-studded casting and larger-than-life sets to Yash’s portrayal of Ravana, almost every aspect of the ambitious project has been a talking point.
Now, Kunal Kapoor, who plays Lord Indra in the film, has opened up about Ranbir Kapoor’s casting as Lord Ram.
Kunal also spoke about why he believes Ranbir is suitable to portray the revered mythological character. He also talked about Sai Pallavi’s casting as Sita, the atmosphere on the set, and Nitesh Tiwari’s role. The Ramayana A special project.
During the conversation with screen Spotlight, Kunal said, “Ranbir is obviously a brilliant actor. He’s that rare actor who has the ability to say a lot while doing very little. You need that calmness to play Sri Ram. It’s not an over-the-top character. You have to have poise and grace, but within that, you have to be able to do a lot. Think Ranbir is going to be amazing as Ram.”
About the role of Sai Pallavi, she said, “I remember when we were doing a scene together, I saw what she was doing while I was in the scene. I was fascinated because she had the ability to write something very simple, but elevate it. She is obviously going to be amazing in the film. She is such a good actor.” The actor recently worked with her in Sunil Pandey’s romantic comedy. one dayWhich made her Bollywood debut.
We’ve all seen western movies and said, ‘Wow, this is amazing!’ But secretly, we hoped and said, ‘Why can’t we make a film like this?’,” Kunal said.
He added, “They’ve put so much time, passion, and effort and so many resources into it for six to seven years now. So, there’s no question of not wanting to be a part of it.”
Calling the experience of shooting his sequences “amazing”, Kunal added, “It was very quiet, almost meditative. Everyone knew they were telling a story that was important to our culture and our history. It was the first set where everyone knew what was happening.”
He further explained that Rama’s portrayal requires restraint and grace rather than exaggerated expressions. According to Kunal, the character calls for an actor who can convey powerful emotions while maintaining a creative presence. He added that Ranbir would be brilliant in the role.
