On the occasion of Navratri, two Hindi films, Nai Naveli and Prahar were released in theatres. However, none of them have made a mark amidst Jailer 2 fever. After 4 days, Yami Gautam’s fantasy-comedy is just Rs 3 crore ahead of Rajkumar Rao’s hard-hitting drama.

Crunching the numbers

On Day 4, Nayi Naveli collected Rs 2.50 crore in 4,804 shows. Seknilak.

This has taken the All India total to ₹16.85 crore and the All India total to ₹14.15 crore so far.

Overseas, the film collected Rs 0.25 crore on Day 4, taking its total overseas earnings to Rs 2.25 crore so far. It takes the worldwide total collection to ₹19.10 crore.

On Day 4, Prahaar – The Ujjwal Nikam Story collected Rs 2.00 crore from 3,281 shows.

This has taken the All India total to ₹13.26 crore and the All India total to ₹11.15 crore so far.

Overseas, the film collected ₹0.15 crore on Day 4, taking its total overseas earnings to ₹2.15 crore so far. This took the worldwide total collection to ₹15.41 crore.

Nai Naveli and Prahar are not only competing against each other but also against major releases like Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandana’s Raanabali and Rajinikanth’s Jailor 2. Even with these big-ticket films, both releases face more competition at the box office to grab the audience’s attention.

Directed by Balaji Mohan, Adinath M. in Nayi Naveli. Kothare, Sunita Rajwar, Meeta Vashisht, Sushmita Mukherjee and Aditya Kulshreth are also in the lead roles. The story revolves around a modern corporate woman who marries into a traditional Meerut family. However, her cynical brother-in-law suspects that she is a supernatural witch.

On the other hand, Rajkumar Rao played Indian public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, Wamika Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Lalit Prabhakar in Prahar. The film focuses on real-life cases, including the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks of 2008, the 1993 Bombay bombings and the Gulshan Kumar murder case.
