Lyricist Sameer Anjan recently recalled an amusing reaction he received after the release of filmmaker David Dhawan. Something happensThe title track of While the song became a hit, David apparently had a very different reaction to it.

talking with Gentle NahataSameer remembered how David had called him after hearing the song. The filmmaker didn’t hold back while sharing his opinion about the track.

Sameer recalled David, “You have written a very beautiful tune friends. Write a song like this in my picture!“

Sameer, however, was quick to point out that David had no reason to worry about the song as it was not part of his film. He replied,What is your picture song? Why do you worry? go away“.

David then reminds Sameer that the songs of his own film have also been released. Recalling the conversation, Sameer said that David told him, “The songs of my film have also been released. You told me that you have not completed the music of our film.“

The movie David was referring to Bad Mian Little MianReleased in 1998. Interestingly, Sameer also wrote the songs for that film.

Both the films released on the same day

There was another interesting connection between the two films. Something happensDirected by Karan Johar, and Bad Mian Little MianDirected by David Dhawan, released on the same day – October 16, 1998. Both the films were huge successes, while their music also found strong audiences.
