The birthday treat for Shah Rukh Khan fans came early this year. As the clock struck midnight (November 2), the first song from Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film, King, was unveiled. Composed by Sachin-Jigar, the song is sung by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi. The song features an exclusive by Ed Sheeran, courtesy Interscope Records and Gingerbread Man Records.
Picturing the lead pair, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the song Tu Mil Jae celebrates love, charisma and of course, Deepika-SRK chemistry. With intense tones of bloodshed, violence and stylized action, the song also depicts the secret ‘king’ly mission that drives the main plot of the film.
The exotic locale, hook dance step and Shah Rukh-Deepika’s friendship also remind the audience of their past associations in Pathan and Jawan, which had similar background songs.
Before the lead pair light up your screen, Shah Rukh introduces himself with these words: “I am not a killer, Aashiq hoon, nishan meri masuka, wo aur aashiqui kya jo dil chir na de (I am not a killer, but a lover. My beloved is my purpose. And what is love if it does not break the heart).”
Great celebration on SRK’s birthday
On his 61st birthday, Shah Rukh Khan will miss his regular meet-and-greet session with fans due to work commitments.
A large number of fans gathered outside Mannat last night to catch a glimpse of the superstar.
Three King teaser posters ignited Shah Rukh Khan’s mannat and were displayed on giant LEDs outside his bungalow.
King Star cast
King marked the reunion of Shah Rukh Khan and Pathan director Siddharth Anand. The film will also bring together SRK and Deepika after Jawan.
Shah Rukh Khan recently teased his intense avatar in the film with a new poster.
The caption reads, “Not a killer… Aashiq is… #King. In theaters 24.12.2026.” The words were a tribute to Shahrukh’s film Baadshah and its title track.
The star-studded ensemble includes Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi and Abhay Verma.
Kareena Kapoor has also joined the film for a special dance number.
King is scheduled to hit the theaters on December 24.
