Vedika has addressed the criticism about the end of Pinto Musafir Cafe, which differs from the conclusion of the 2016 novel on which the show is based. While the book ends with Sudha returning with Chandra’s eight-year-old child, the web series takes a different route with her character. This change did not sit well with a section of viewers and readers. Vedika, who plays Sudha in the web series, explained why the makers took a different approach to the story.

In an interview with Free Press Journal, Vedika explained, “The novel was written in 2016, and the narrative has generally changed over the last 10 years. I think our writer, Sharanya, also wanted to give a female perspective to the characters. At the end of the book, Sudha actually comes back with Chandra’s 8-year-old child, so I also think that Chandra’s one flag was a flag in the book.”

The actor shared that he wasn’t sure who made the final decision to change the ending, though he believes it was discussed in the writers’ room. “The way we introduced Sudha, it wouldn’t make sense for her to have a baby, because then she would go against everything she stood for. People don’t quite agree with the way we ended the series, but I guess at the end of the day we play characters to explain to people,” he added.

Musafir Cafe Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix. When asked about her upcoming projects apart from the series, Vedika said that she has not signed anything concrete yet.

She said, “There are very exciting things on the table and I don’t want to spoil them by mentioning them now! I am proud to say that I will always say to my parents, ‘I will feel that as soon as I have scripts to read, I will make a place in the industry!’ Childish Vedika is now very happy because every day there is a new story, and I have to decide which story is right for me.”

Released on Netflix, Season 1 in July Musafir Cafe It also featured Vikrant Massey and Mahima Makwana in lead roles.
