Siddharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s New Movie, Vawan: The power of the forestOpens in theaters on Friday, September 25. The film, which has received mixed response from critics and audiences, has registered a good opening at the box office.

According to Secnilak, Vawan: The power of the forest It collected an estimated Rs 8 crore in 6,746 shows on its first day in India. The film also earned around Rs 1 crore in overseas gross, taking its worldwide total to around Rs 9 crore.

The film grossed 28.25% overall on Friday. The morning show recorded 12.23% occupancy, which increased to 24% in the afternoon. Evening occupancy increased further to 26.08%, while night shows recorded the highest occupancy of 41.46%.

Among major cities, Mumbai had the highest occupancy of 33.8% at 491 shows. Bangalore followed with 35% occupancy at 141 shows, while the National Capital Region recorded around 28.3% occupancy at 783 shows. Pune recorded 29% occupancy at 186 shows, while Lucknow recorded 27% at 134 shows.

Inspired by the legend of the Van Devi temple, the film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in an intriguing story set against the backdrop of an ancient forest.

It is shot in real jungle locations in the dense, mythic centers of central India to ensure authenticity and depth. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Neeraj Kothari and Arunabh Kumar, the film is backed by Balaji Motion Pictures and The Viral Fever (TVF).
