After the success of Hanuman Ansh, Producer Anupriya Nagar has revealed that the makers are not increasing the budget significantly for the second installment as the first film did well.

He said that the sequel will be made on the same budget as the first film, unless the story really demands a larger scale.

talking with Dainik Bhaskar, Anupriya said, “My thinking is very clear: I believe the second film should be made on the same budget as the first. Investing Rs 10 crore or Rs 20 crore will not necessarily make the film better. It may also lead to unnecessary use of VFX or AI, which the story may not require, and may affect its authenticity.”

He insisted that maintaining the authenticity of the world being portrayed was more important than increasing the film’s budget.

“The characters are not the only important elements in the period we are depicting. The landscape, visual text, atmosphere and world of the time are equally important. So authenticity is our priority.”

According to Anupriya, the makers are also mindful of how they use the money invested in the film, especially after the audience response to the first installment.

“The audience has given us a lot of love and support, so we cannot spend frivolously. Of course, if the next story really needs a bigger budget, we will increase it,” he said.

“The film was made for a little over Rs 1.5 crore, but it was not Rs 2 crore. The budget remained below Rs 2 crore. There are three producers, and each of us contributed one-third of the investment,” he said.

The producer also said that it is too early to announce the release timeline for the second installment.

“It would be too early to give a definite time frame. Our director has signed another film, so naturally, it will take some time. Our team has not discussed the project in detail yet. Until that happens, it would not be right to announce a date,” said Anupriya.
