Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett lead the thriller, which has received mixed reviews.

It has received a 37% rating from critics rotten tomatoes.

However, there is no post-credits scene in Verity.

This means that viewers can leave the theater as soon as the movie ends without missing anything.

The book has no sequel, so there is no need for a post-credits scene. The film ends where the book ended. Still, you can stop by and look at the names of everyone who worked in the film.

The film centers on Loven Ashley, played by Dakota Johnson, who is hired to finish a book series by Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway.

After moving into Verity’s house, Lowen finds a disturbing manuscript that appears to reveal Verity’s deepest secrets. It claims that Verity was obsessed with her husband and hated her children and was responsible for the death of her daughter, Harper.

Loewen eventually shows the manuscript to Verity’s husband Jeremy, played by Josh Hartnett. Jeremy confronts Verity and kills her. Then he and Loewen make her death look like an accident.

Months later, Lowen receives a hidden letter from Verity. The letter claims that the disturbing manuscript was actually a writing exercise and that Jeremy had drugged Verity and caused a car accident, leaving her apparently incapacitated.

The letter reveals that Verity was pretending to be unable to move because she was afraid of Jeremy. Loewen hides the letter.

And this raises the biggest question for the audience: Which story was true? The ending doesn’t provide clear answers, leaving fans to decide whether they believe the disturbing manuscript or Verity’s final letter. This mystery has sparked the “Team Manuscript” vs. “Team Letter” debate among fans since the book was published in 2018.

Hathaway has chosen a side. “For me, personally, I’m Team Letter,” she explained. Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t trust Loewen. I think the writing is so advanced that, for me, there’s a performative aspect to the manuscript. I always read the letters because she’s so careful.” And Johnson seemed to agree with him. Hoover did not confirm or deny and only said that his opinion had changed over the years.

But the film does not solve the mystery. Instead, it leaves viewers with a big question: Was Verity telling the truth in the letter, or was the disturbing manuscript the real story?
