Actress Sheeba Chaddha gave fans a glimpse of what went on behind the scenes of Hamlet. The actor, who plays Gertrude in Anil Karia’s adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy, shared a series of pictures from the shoot on Instagram. Featuring moments with co-stars Riz Ahmed, Art Malik and Joe Alwyn, the photos capture the warmth and camaraderie the cast shared while working on the film. Recalling the experience, Sheeba described it as something that made her feel grateful and changed.

The photos offer a glimpse of the people behind this intense drama. One shows Sheeba hugging Art Malik, who plays Claudius in the film. Another contains a handwritten note from director Anil Karia, in which he thanks the actor and acknowledges his ‘spiritual strength’ and the inspiration he brought to the set.
There are also group photos of Riz Ahmed and the rest of the cast. One features a member of the team wearing a Santa hat, while others capture the actors smiling and spending time together between takes. The photos offer a lighter look of the shoot, away from the tension and conflict that drives the story.
However, one image takes the viewer straight back into the world of the film. Sheeba is seen in a golden saree with Riz, who is wearing a white kurta and art stained with fake blood. There is still a hint of violence at the center of the story, which creates a wonderful contrast with the joyful group portraits.

Sharing pictures, Sheeba revealed what made the experience memorable for her. He talked about the people he worked with and how being a part of the film gave him a feeling of gratitude. He also revealed that the project had been close to Riz’s heart for years.

What is Hamlet about?
Directed by Anil Karia, Hamlet sets Shakespeare’s classic tragedy in present-day London, where the story unfolds within a wealthy British South Asian family.
Riz Ahmed, one of the producers of the project, plays Hamlet, who returns home after his father’s funeral, only to discover that his uncle, Claudius (Art Malik), is preparing to marry his recently widowed mother, Gertrude (Sheeba Chaddha). Things take a turn for the worse when his father’s ghost reveals that Claudius was responsible for his death. Hamlet then sets out to uncover the truth, and expose the secrets and corruption of the family’s real estate business, Elsinore Construction. The adaptation retains the play’s central themes of grief, betrayal, and vengeance while placing it in a contemporary setting.
What’s next for Sheeba Chaddha?
Sheeba will next be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan: Part 1 and Ramayan: Part 2 respectively. She will play the role of Manthra and her official poster was recently unveiled. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Yash, Sunny Deol, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, Vivek Oberoi and others. The first part is scheduled for release in Diwali 2026 followed by the next part which is scheduled for release in 2027.
