OTT Web Series Special Ops 2 Review in Hindi: ‘Special Ops 2’ has been released on OTT platform JioHotstar. The series stars KK Menon, Karan Thacker, Vinay Pathak, Syami Kher, Meher Vij, Prakash Raj and Tahir Raj Bhasin.

Crime thriller web series ‘Special Ops 2’ has released on JioHotstar. Its first season came in 2020, then with ‘Special Ops 1.5’ the makers showed the back story and now ‘Special Ops 2’ has come as the third part. All the three series have the same formula, there is a big enemy and Himmat Singh’s (KK Menon) team is busy to capture him. This time also the same layout has been repeated. Now the question is whether this old method works again or not.

Rating: 2.5/5

Story (spoiler free)

It begins with the kidnapping of the country’s top AI scientist Dr. Piyush Bhargava (Arif Zakaria). Dr Piyush Bhargava knows such secrets which are very important for the security of the country. In such a scenario, Rao’s team starts searching for them, while the villain (Tahir Raj Bhasin) tries to access India’s UPI network using Dr. Bhargava. After this there are some interesting twists in the story, to know about which you have to watch the series.

acting

KK As always, Menon fits his character perfectly. His screen presence, dialogue delivery and expressions are as strong as ever. Karan Thacker (Farooq), Vinay Pathak (Abbas), Sayami Kher (Juhi) and Meher Vij (Rouhani) also do a good job, but this time some characters seem to have been added just to fill the screen. Prakash Raj and Tahir Raj Bhasin certainly bring some freshness, but their characters don’t get as much depth as they should have.

Features

-KK Menon’s performance is the lifeblood of this series.

-The topic of cyber terrorism is relevant to today’s era and the audience will be able to relate to it easily.

-Some episodes show good cinematography and production values.

Weaknesses

-The biggest problem is that there is nothing new in the series. Same old formula: there’s the enemy, there’s the Raw team and then there’s the mission rush.

-There is a lack of suspense in the climax. The story doesn’t reach the level it should have.

-Scenes are drawn at several places, which neither move the story forward nor leave any impact.

-After a point the series seems predictable.

See or not?

If you have seen ‘Special Ops 1’ and ‘1.5’ and you know that K.K. If you are a fan of Menon then you can watch this series once. But if you sit down expecting a great thriller and a powerful climax, you may be disappointed.
