Yami Gautam won the National Award for Best Actress for her performance in Section 370 The 2024 political action thriller also won the National Awards for Best Feature Film and Best Music Direction.

Yami attended the 72nd National Film Awards with her husband Aditya Dhar and the team behind her. Section 370 Sharing pictures from the ceremony on social media, the actor penned a heartfelt note about the honor, his journey and the people who supported him along the way.

“You keep showing up every day, working hard, holding on to hope, believing that one day an opportunity will come your way, an opportunity to express yourself as an artist in the way you’ve always dreamed of. And then, one day, that moment comes.”

“Today, as I hold this national award, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Not just for the award, but for everything that led me to this moment, the people who believed in me, the lessons, the struggles, the prayers and the journey.”

Yami thanked Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar for what he described as “the role of a lifetime”.

“Huge thanks to my dear Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar for giving me the role of a lifetime and trusting me in such an important film. Aditya, you have been a true leader and visionary, with an unwavering belief in giving your best and telling stories that make us proud of our country.”

He also thanked producer Jyoti Deshpande for supporting the film. Yami thanked the entire creative team including director Aditya Suhas Jambhale, cinematographer Siddharth Vasani and music composer Shaswat Sachdev.

“A very special thanks to my talented director, Aditya Suhas Jambhale, our very talented cinematographer, Siddharth Vasani, music maestro Shashwat Sachdev, and every creative mind that came together to make this. Section 370 What it has become.”

The actor gave special mention to editor Sivakumar V Panicker and his teachers.

“And a special mention to the incomparable Sivakumar V Panicker for your exceptional editing and, equally important, for lending your vision and wisdom to the film. I am also deeply grateful to my teachers, Keshav sir, Bhushan sir and Mustafa. Every lesson stays with me.”

Yami also thanked the audience for the hug Section 370 And film support.

“And to my audience, thank you for embracing a film like ours and making it a success. Your love gives us the courage and motivation to tell stories that inspire us, challenge us and celebrate the spirit of India.”

The actor then spoke about his family and the role they played in his journey.

“But behind every dream is a family that quietly makes it possible. I can’t thank God enough for blessing me with my family. My dear parents, for your unconditional love, prayers and sacrifices. To Aditya’s parents, for your constant love and support.”

“To my wonderful siblings, Surili and Ojas, Jasraj, Jimmy, Crystal, my beloved nephew Saibhang and my son Vedvid, for being my strength in ways you will never fully know.”

Yami also talked about his son Vedvid and how he was with him during its making Section 370

“Vedvid, you gave me strength in the most extraordinary way. You were with me during the making of this film, even before entering this world, and somehow, you gave me the courage to go ahead when I needed it the most.”

The actress saved a special note for her husband Aditya Dhar, who directed Uri: Surgical strike and co-creation Section 370

“And to my husband, Aditya, you inspire me to be the best version of myself every single day. You stood by me through every chapter, celebrated my dreams as yours and believed in me even when I doubted myself.”

“Today, standing here with this honor, I could not be prouder as an artist, as a woman, as a mother and above all, as your wife, to share this precious moment with you.”

Yami concludes his note by highlighting the importance of perseverance and being ready when the opportunity finally arises.

“This award is a reminder that dreams take time. Perseverance matters because sometimes, the opportunity you’ve been waiting for comes when you least expect it, and when it does, you have to be ready to give it everything you’ve got.”

“Keep working. Keep believing. Keep showing hope in your heart. Thank you, National Film Awards, for this honor, which I will cherish for life.”
