Mahesh Bhatt and his first wife Kiran’s son Rahul Bhatt, a fitness enthusiast and a former Bigg Boss 4 contestant, recently spoke about his family dynamics and his equation with half-sisters Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Alia’s husband Ranbir Kapoor.

Asked if he had ever met Alia’s husband Ranbir Kapoor, Rahul Bhatt told Siddharth Kannan, “I have met Ranbir 5-6 times. I met him twice at Sikandar Kher’s party. Ranbir was young then. He is a very calm, respectful person. He asked me about firing a weapon in Animal.”

Sharing information about their relationship dynamic, Rahul said, “We have a civil dynamic. I respect and love them too. I am very happy that Shaheen is settled now. Alia is blessed. I am really happy for them, they are my little sisters. They call me Sunny Bunny.”

Talking about his relationship with his stepmother Soni, Rahul said that although they are “great” and “warm”, he feels the relationship is just a “formal”. “They call me, but it’s all a formality,” he said.

On Rahul Pooja Vs Aaliya

Rahul also shared that they meet on most occasions.

“We meet on my father’s birthday, Christmas and Diwali. He knows I am there. I wish I was closer to him. He respects me, Shaheen definitely respects me more, Alia has stardom. She is different, one has to respect that. The most important relationship for me in my family today is with my real sister Pooja,” he added.

In his earlier interviews, Rahul Bhatt has often said that Pooja Bhatt was superior to Alia Bhatt as an artist. Clarifying his intention, he said, “Pooja and Alia are born in two different eras. Alia has a huge body of work and versatility. Pooja’s personality was more from the way she dressed. This is my belief, my personal opinion. If you compare, she is the most intelligent and talented too.”

The fitness trainer added, “Alia has delivered in the real world, and not once or twice, her choice of films has been consistently excellent. She has talent, PR, she understands how to create. I mean Pooja is a powerhouse of talent, if you compare with Alia. She looked better, she had a different personality, she spoke well.”

Mahesh Bhatt’s Family

Mahesh Bhatt married Lorraine Bright (later Kiran Bhatt) in 1970. They had two children – Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt.

However, they separated and the filmmaker later married actress Soni Razdan in 1986. This couple has two daughters – Shaheen Bhatt and Alia Bhatt.
