I’m glad that over 20 years of malicious propaganda and slander has finally given way to some truth!
Let me add the missing piece, so it can rest now: protecting yourself from violence to avoid a toxic person is not “killing”! https://t.co/6ZmWnDVx8K— Ranvir Shorey (@RanvirShorey) September 30, 2026
What Rahul Bhatt said during a podcast
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Rahul Bhatt reflected on the ugly public fallout and said he regretted ‘overreacting’ during the day.
During the podcast, Rahul said, “There was an argument between Ranveer Shorey and Pooja Bhatt. They had an argument, after which Ranveer hit her or something. I had to go in and, when I did, my response was a bit exaggerated. I broke his car window. I broke one of his ribs. I did the wrong thing. I took the law into my own hands and paid the price myself. Arrested.”
Rahul also admitted that Ranveer handled the situation very maturely and is grateful that his case was dismissed due to Shorey’s intervention.
He came and compounded the case, and the FIR was till then, I had a criminal case pending. No one else was to do this without anger.
Pooja and Ranveer were in a relationship in the early 2000s after working together in the film Jaesam.
They reportedly started living in, but their relationship ended on a bitter note in 2002.
Earlier, Ranveer alleged that Pooja’s family portrayed him as an alcoholic and abusive partner and claimed that his brother Rahul Bhatt attacked him after their argument.
Pooja later married VJ-turned-restaurateur Manish Makhija in 2003, while Ranveer married actress Konkana Sen Sharma in 2010. Both marriages eventually broke up.
