Khushboo Sundar has spoken out in support of Janhvi Kapoor after a digitally altered video featuring the actor raised concerns over the misuse of AI.
The video, in which Janhvi’s look has been used Godfather the song Chatumallehas sparked a wider conversation around the use of artificial intelligence to manipulate a person’s image without their consent.
Reacting to the incident, Khushboo spoke to X about the impact such content can have on women in particular. She wrote, “As a woman, I refuse to remain silent when another woman is digitally violated, humiliated and humiliated. What AI has done is not funny, not entertaining and not something we should ever take for granted. It’s cruel, insulting and deeply shameful. It’s breaking her dignity.”
He condemned both the creation and dissemination of such material. Khushboo said, “I am outraged by the production and circulation of morphed videos targeting a woman. No woman should fear that technology can be weaponized to attack her dignity, reputation and sense of security.”
Khushboo also said that such an incident should not be dismissed just because there is another victim. She wrote, “Today, it is her. Tomorrow, it could be me, you, our daughter, our sister, our mother or any woman we love. We cannot remain silent just because we are not victims today. When a woman’s dignity is attacked, every woman has a reason to stand up and speak out.”
He demanded that those responsible for creating and spreading such content be held accountable. “Those who create such content, knowingly share it, promote it or knowingly promote it, should be held accountable under the law. There should be consequences and punishment to set a precedent.”
Khushboo further stressed that one’s image and honor should not be treated as something that can be tampered with for entertainment. He said, “A woman’s body is not content. Her dignity is not entertainment. Her humiliation is not a joke. And AI should never be a weapon against women.”
