Actress Ambika has questioned the need for a police complaint in the ongoing dispute over her sister Radha. The veteran actress said that a mistake has been made with her in this matter.
He was reacting to Radha’s reported complaint to the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office regarding the Rs 43.62 crore check dispute involving Ambika and her brother Arjun Nair.
As the matter is now tied up in legal proceedings, Ambika said she could not speak publicly about every detail. However, she clarified that she does not agree with the way the controversy is unfolding, especially since it involves members of her own family.
“I don’t know why Radha has filed a complaint against me. I find it strange because I am actually the one who has been cheated. I should have been the one to file the complaint. That’s fine. Someone must have advised Radha, and that’s why she filed the complaint,” he said. TOI.
Ambika also used the opportunity to clear the air about ARS Gardens, a property that has become the center of controversy. He strongly refuted claims on YouTube that the family had received 25 acres of land as a free gift from former Tamil Nadu chief minister and actor MGR.
Ambika said that the family bought this property with the money earned by their work. He also described ARS Gardens as the family’s first property.
“People on YouTube are saying that MGR gave us 25 acres of land for free. It’s not true. It was a property we bought with hard-earned money from the Dewar Films family. Specifically, ARS Gardens was the first property we bought. It’s like my life,” he said.
For Ambika, this property is also associated with the family’s journey in the film industry. He recalled feeling upset when he removed the original ARS Garden name board and saw another one being put up.
“When I saw my ARS Garden board removed and another board put up, I couldn’t bear it. Everyone in Tamil cinema knows what ARS Garden stands for,” said Ambika.
He further clarified that the property is not being sold but is currently mired in a legal issue.
“ARS Garden is not for sale. As there is a legal issue going on, I cannot speak freely about everything,” she added.
The conflict also prompts Ambika to reflect on how family relationships have changed over time. He recalled the years when the family was struggling and it was important to stay together.
He said, “When we were struggling, I was the first step for the family. At one time, we believed that if there is a family and a bond, then we should do anything for the family. But now things are not like that. Everyone is living separately,” he said.
Ambika also expressed disappointment that now the role of money is seen in the relationship.
“Thank you, emotion, and all these things have disappeared from life. Everything in this world has become about money. No matter how much money a person gets, it is never enough. The only thing people want is more money.”
The property and check dispute is currently a legal matter, and Ambika has indicated that she will not comment on aspects that may be affected by the ongoing proceedings.
